Colorado is one of the most accessible voting states in the country. Mail-in ballots, same-day registration, automatic voter registration at the DMV. The question is whether Republicans can crack the blue wall here.

October 26, 2026 (mail ballot deadline; same-day registration at polls)
Colorado makes it embarrassingly easy to vote. They mail a ballot to every registered voter. You can register on Election Day. They automatically register you when you get a driver's license. There are drop boxes everywhere. If you live in Colorado and don't vote, you have no one to blame but yourself.
And in 2026, you should really vote—because there's a competitive Senate race, an open governor's mansion, and a state legislature that could shift the balance of power. Colorado has been trending blue for a decade, but nothing is permanent. The 2024 presidential result showed cracks. 2026 will test whether the blue wall holds.
"Colorado sends you a ballot in the mail. You fill it out. You drop it off. That's it. If you can't manage that, you don't get to complain about the results."
Primary Election: June 23, 2026
General Election: November 3, 2026

Mail Ballots Sent: October 13, 2026
Colorado mails every registered voter a ballot. You don't need to request one. You don't need an excuse. You don't need to go anywhere. They literally send democracy to your mailbox. Fill it out. Sign the envelope. Drop it in a drop box or mail it back. Done.
Colorado's Senate race in 2026 is one of the most competitive in the country. The incumbent is running for reelection, and Republicans see this as a pickup opportunity—especially after the 2024 results showed Colorado is no longer the safe blue bet it used to be.
If Republicans flip this seat, it could be the difference between a Democratic and Republican Senate majority. The margin is that thin. This race will attract tens of millions of dollars in outside spending. Your vote—amid all that noise—is still the only thing that actually counts.
Colorado's 8 congressional districts include several competitive races, particularly in the Denver suburbs and the 8th District (north of Denver), which was the closest House race in the country in 2022. CD-8 was decided by fewer than 1,000 votes. One thousand. Your high school graduation had more people than that.
The House majority could literally come down to who wins in Colorado's 8th. If you live in that district, your vote has more power than almost anyone else in the country. Use it.
The governor's mansion is open in 2026, and that always means a more competitive race. The governor controls the state budget, veto power, appointments, and the direction of state policy for four years. An open seat means no incumbent advantage—and that means your vote matters even more.
Colorado's governor also has a significant role in redistricting and judicial appointments. The person who wins in 2026 will shape the state for a generation.
Colorado voter action plan:
1. Check your registration. Go to GoVoteColorado.com. If you've moved since the last election, update your address. Colorado will mail your ballot to whatever address is on file—so make sure it's the right one.
2. Fill out your mail ballot when it arrives. Ballots go out October 13. Fill it out the same week. Sign the envelope. Drop it in any official drop box—there are hundreds across the state. Or mail it back. It's that simple.
3. If you prefer in-person voting, vote early. October 19–November 2. Voter service centers are open across the state. Same-day registration is available.
4. Research every race. Pull a sample ballot. Don't skip the down-ballot races—State House and State Senate seats determine who draws the maps next decade.
"Colorado literally mails you a ballot. They give you weeks to return it. They have drop boxes everywhere. If you can't be bothered to vote here, you can't be bothered anywhere."
Colorado has the easiest voting system in the country and some of the most competitive races in 2026. A Senate seat that could flip the chamber. A governor's race that could set the state's direction for a decade. A House district decided by fewer than 1,000 votes last cycle.
They literally mail you the ballot. All you have to do is fill it out.
Show up or shut up. Colorado is counting on you.
The registration deadline is October 26, 2026 (mail ballot deadline; same-day registration at polls). Don't wait — check your registration status and get registered today.
